Flower Farm

Chalk Board Sign
Greetings! I'm Gina, the flower farmer and floral designer of Adirondack Flower Farm. Maybe you've spotted me selling at one of my markets ( girl currently with all purple hair ).
Bucket of Sunflowers
A 22 acre portion of our farm is completely dedicated to the production of my cut flower operation. I raise fields of annuals, a large perrenial field, lots of bulbs and it seems like more greenhouses and hightunnels keep popping up all the time!
Field of Cleome
I started my crazy flower journey with the idea I was going to become a florist. So in high school I attended Southern Adirondack Education Center where I received a two year Technical Degree in Horticulture and Floral Design. I worked in many different Floral shops seasonally during my high school years and one thing always seemed constant, the quality of the cut flowers large wholesalers were selling florists was not that great. Sad face! : (

I began researching growing my own cut flowers and I found all kinds of great books and online articles! So just like a pro painter mixes their own art medium I started growing my own cut flowers for design. Pretty soon I wasn't caring about anything in school except my Horticulture class. So of course when it came time for college I chose SUNY Cobleskill so I could major in Plant Science.

I have now been growing cut flowers for over seven years. I finally graduated college after what felt like four quick years and now I am cut flower farming, floral designing, artisan crafting and helping my family run other areas of the farm full time.
